I attended both Westview High School and Saint Helens High School. Of the two I would pick Saint Helens every time. Saint Helens has a great staff of passionate teachers, a strong athletics program, and is one of the few remaining high schools that offer not only Auto Shop and Woodshop electives, but Machining, Welding, and Drafting as well. The student body as a whole is also very friendly and welcoming. At Westview I was just another student/drone lost in the masses. At Saint Helens I knew everyone and was known by everyone within a few months of arriving. The primary weaknesses of the school are it's lack of traditional extracurricular activities such as a chess club, debate team, or Model UN (although a strong VICA team and Flying club were able to keep me otherwise engaged) and a singular lack of Computer Programming courses. I was able to take computer literacy while I was there to improve my typing speed, but I didn't learn Java, Python, or C++ until college.

This is a very poor highschool. The teachers are very poor and the way the schedule is set up is even worse then the teachers. The only reason i am going to this school is because i live here

I went to St. helens high school for a semester and concluded that the cirriculum and the way classes were set up was terrible! Some students were welcoming and nice, most were involved in their own thing and weren't excepting. I'm HAPPY to say i don't attend St. Helens any longer!
